On arrival at Colombo International Airport you will be met by our local representative and you will be transferred to the hotel in Kandy.

The travel time will be approximately 2 hours from Colombo airport and enoute make a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The Orphanage is situated northwest of the town of Kegalle, halfway between the present capital Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka wildlife department in a 25 acre coconut property near the Maha Oya River. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned Elephants found in the jungle. After the Elephant Orphanage visit, proceed to the hotel in Kandy.

Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.

Today your driver will bring you to Peradeniya to explore the beautiful collections of the Royal Botanical Gardens. The historical botanical gardens will be an enchanting experience. Exploration of this magnificent garden will give you an insight in to Sri Lankan Flora and other exotic plants, in a tranquil environment. A perfect ambience for a romantic pick-nick for two. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is renowned for its collection of orchid. After visiting the Botanical Garden, will have the chance to visit a Batik Factory, a Gem Museum and drive through the local Market. Kandy is a lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens – home to one of the world’s best collections of Orchids. A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or gold jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world’s best blue and star sapphires. Late evening witness a cultural dance performed by our famous Kandyan Dancers.

Prepare for check out and the driver will pick you up and drop you to the Little England of Sri Lanka “Nuwara Eliya”. The duration of the journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya is around 2 hours.

On the way make a visit to a Tea Plantation/Factory where you will be able to examine the process of how the world’s finest tea is being made. They produce the best aromatic tea beverage commonly prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured or fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to East Asia. After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world. You will also get the chance to witness the astonishing Ramboda Waterfall. Ramboda Falls is 109 m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945 m above sea level. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, proceed for check in and the day is free to relax and unwind in the hotel.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya, which was built entirely during the 19th century and its architecture mimics that of an English country town, with red-brick walls, country house like hill club and mock-Tudor half-timbering. The Holy Trinity Church might have stepped out of any village in England, with its Gothic architecture and eclectic collection of memorials, while the “pink post office” features a clock tower. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway's Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.  In April and May the town is crowded with Sri Lankans attending dressed in their finery for the Derby at the Turf Club; at other times of the year it’s much quieter, with apparently stray horses quietly wandering along the road.

Prepare for check out and the driver will pick you up and drop you to Colombo. The duration of the journey from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo is around 3 hours & 30 minutes.

On arrival in Colombo you will proceed in visiting the main sights and attraction in the capital city. This vibrant port city was known to ancient Greek and Roman traders, and was colonized by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British, leaving it with an architectural legacy that has made it one of the most attractive cities in south Asia. Discover the top sights and attractions such as the Gangaramaya Temple and the famous Pettah market. Vibrant, bustling and colourful Colombo is a city that captures the heart of all visitors. Its mix of cultures, religions and languages merely adds to its aura and mystique. See how these combine with historic landmarks such as the Pettah Dutch Bell Tower at the Kaiman Gate. The places of interest are some of the city’s residential areas, where you find stately homes of the affluent, and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, a gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China. There is also the option to visit the House of Fashion and the Premadasa Jewellery and Arts Centre, and the National Museum.

Colombo, Sri Lanka‘s bustling capital, is located on the country’s west coast and with a population of between 800,000 and one million (estimates vary) is by far the country’s biggest city, as well as its window on the world. Its natural harbour at the mouth of the Kelani River was a magnet for successive traders and conquerors – first Arab merchants, then Portuguese, Dutch and British imperialists. Colombo’s cosmopolitan side supports ever-more stylish eateries, galleries and museums. Surprises abound in its old quarters where you can find great local food and discover a characterful shop or tiny, convivial cafe. The capital is an excellent start – or finish – to your Sri Lankan adventures
