Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that's home to the European Central Bank. It's the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The reconstructed Altstadt (Old Town) is the site of Römerberg, a square that hosts an annual Christmas market.

Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Heidelberg and Rhine Valley Day Trip. After boarding your luxury coach in central Frankfurt, you'll travel approximately 50 miles (80 km) south to the lovely city of Heidelberg. Often described as Germany's most beautiful city, Heidelberg will greet you with pretty Renaissance buildings, framed by vivid green hills on both sides of the River Neckar. Heidelberg Castle perches over the city, and a visit to its famous ruins will undoubtedly be a highlight of your full-day trip. The evocative castle was created as a combination of several buildings clustered around a courtyard, each one representing different styles of German architecture. The castle is home to many interesting artefacts, including the famous Heidelberg wine barrel that boasts a capacity of more than 51 US gallons (193 liters) of wine! Your full-day tour starts in the morning in central Frankfurt. Board your coach and settle in for your 4.5-hour drive south to the enchanting Bavarian town of Füssen, on the southern tip of the Romantic Road near the Austria border.
Perched on a rocky, forested hill is Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Germany’s most beloved attractions. This stunning fairy tale palace rises steeply above the village of Hohenschwangau, looming over the Alpine foothills.
