The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the Museums Quartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists.

Breakfast at the hotel. Live the high life in Vienna with this city tour that includes skip the line access to the Schoenbrunn Palace, the magnificent summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty.
Take a panoramic bus tour along the famous Ringstrasse, the monumental boulevard, and admire the astonishing assembly of palaces, ministries, churches and opera houses that flank it. Behold the impressive Vienna State Opera, home to the world famous Opera Ball and continue the tour to marvel at the imperial winter residence, Hofburg Palace. See buildings such as the Museum of Art History, the glorious Gothic revival-style City Hall, the neo-classical Austrian Parliament, the brilliant Burgtheater, the Museum of Natural history and many more outstanding architectural gems. Few other streets in the world could hold a candle to the Ringstrasse, and Vienna is even celebrating the 150th anniversary of the most beautiful boulevard in the world in 2015.
The highlight of the tour is the visit to the Schoenbrunn Palace, a 1,441 room Baroque palace outside of the old town. It was here that the emperors would while away their summers, hunting, fishing and partying. Beat the queues and head straight in to admire the opulent staterooms and gain an insight into lavish imperial life. Take time to stroll through the equally impressive gardens and you can take a break with a Viennese coffee.

After your breakfast, Experience Austria’s stupendous countryside en route to the storybook city of Salzburg.
The drive through the Salzkammergut region will amaze you with its crystal-clear glacial lakes and soaring mountains accentuated with white, limestone deposits. You’ll feel like you’re driving in a landscape painting. No surprise many artists have flocked to this resort area to capture the incredible views.
The region’s name means ‘Estate of the Salt Chamber’ and it was here that the Habsburg dynasty became very rich mining the so-called ‘white gold’. Today what glitters are the spectacular lakes carved from the landscape during the Ice Ages. We pass Lake Wolfgang, the region’s largest lake. We also drive around the beloved Lake Fuschl protected by Castle Fuschl. Marshy inlets rim the water that is so clean that it’s drinkable. The visibility reaches six metres and, even though it’s a glacial lake, the water is warm attracting travellers and Austrians alike.
You’ll be inspired to belt out an aria or two amid this spectacular scenery. However, the true crescendo will arrive when we reach Salzburg, the home of the 18th century musical maestro Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
We set off to explore its old town; admire the well-preserved historic centre with its elaborate Baroque architecture and well-manicured parks. A UNESCO Heritage Site, Salzburg’s old town retains its old-world charm with a vibrant present-day art and music scene. See the principle sites and hear an aria or two drifting from the many music halls or homes.
